The COBB Subaru J-Pipe (Non-Resonated) for the 2015+ WRX CVT and 14+ FXT is a direct replacement unit which features full CNC mandrel bent 304 stainless steel construction, a high quality metal spun catalytic converter, and an adapter for use with the factory catback. All of these features combine into an excellent replacement for the power robbing factory unit!
Attention: Requires Custom Tuning The COBB J-Pipe (Non-Resonated) replaces what is traditionally referred to as the "downpipe" on previous Subaru vehicles. With the relocation of the turbocharger for the 2015+ WRX CVT and 14+ FXT, the first section of exhaust no longer requires a downward turn but instead uses a sharp "j-turn" to route exhaust towards the back of the vehicle.
COBB initially took a conservative approach with CVT equipped Subaru WRXs and Forester XTs, offering an Accessport with only Stage 1 OTS calibrations. We have kept a watchful eye on the CVT enthusiast market over the years and have noticed a recent increase in CVT tuning requests for parts beyond the Stage 1 level. Through careful torque limitation in the engine calibration, we believe it is possible to safely increase the performance of CVT-equipped cars beyond Stage 1. COBB CVT J-Pipes are now available for those customers interested in upgrading. Custom tuning is required for the time being and COBB Off The Shelf Maps will be offered in the future.
